Throughout this game players find imagery of the Napoleonic era and of the Iron Duke. In addition to a portrait of Wellesley, there is a Napoleon 12-pounder Cannon, a portrait of Napoleon, a Union Flag, a stack of Cannon Balls, a plumed Helmet, and a Pistol that is displayed with a powder flask. Lower level combinations are handled by the 9 through Ace card indices, as is typical, but in this case the letter and numeral images are beautifully redesigned to fit in with the elegant, period look of the game.
The Wildcard symbol is, naturally, the portrait of the Duke. This symbol serves as a substitute for any symbol in winning combinations with the notable and usual exception of the Cannon. If five Dukes show up on a payline it triggers a big 7500 coin payout.
The Scatter symbol is the Cannon. Five of these will trigger a 200 coin payout, but the real excitement on the Scatter is the exciting bonus round that they trigger.
The Game of War
Each payline on the game will accept a single coin bet, and coin values may be set from a single penny up to a dollar. With a maximum bet on all paylines of $25, this is not a high-roller’s game, but it is a generously paying game with two progressive jackpots.
Waterloo Feature is triggered by getting three or more scattered Cannons. In this conflict you face a battlefield populated with cannon. You fire at the enemy and they fire back – the object is to destroy all the enemy cannon without losing all of yours. If you rid the field of the French scourge and have a single cannon remaining, you win. The prize here is a number of free spins ranging from 12 to 25 and with multipliers of 3x, 4x, or 5x.
