After acquiring Bovada Poker's player base, Ignition has suddenly become the largest US-friendly online poker site. If you've played at Bovada in the past, then Ignition Poker won't require much of a transition because their site has the same look and feel. Both sites are owned by the same parent company, meaning the level of quality hasn't dropped off following Bovada's migration to Ignition.
Now that we've covered the basics, let's continue discussing what you can expect from Ignition Poker in terms of their welcome bonus, promotions, games, tournaments, banking and support.
As soon as you create an account at Ignition Poker, you'll receive a $10 no-deposit bonus. Even if you decide not to deposit here, it's at least worth signing up for the free $10.
If you do deposit at Ignition Casino, you'll be eligible for a 100% match bonus up to $1,100. This breaks down into the following two parts:
- 100% match bonus up to $100 for poker: you earn your bonus in 4 levels ($5, $20, $25, $50), and you need 400 total Poker Points to collect the entire $100 bonus.
- 100% match bonus up to $1,000 for casino games: meet casino game wagering requirements to get the full bonus.
We're not fans of Ignition tying most of the bonus to casino games, especially if all you want to do is play poker. That said, this bonus is mostly for low-stakes poker players and/or casual gamblers who like both poker and casino games.
Ignition isn't loaded with promotions right now, but we expect this to change in the near future because they're still transitioning Bovada players over. Here's a look at the current promos:
Royal Flush Bonus - Any time that you land poker's most-coveted hand in a cash game, you'll receive a bonus worth 50x the big bind up to $200. If you get a royal flush, submit your hand number and table number to Ignition support for your bonus.
Bad Beat Bonus - If you lose a four-of-a-kind hand or better, you'll receive a bonus worth 100x the big blind. Again, you need to email Ignition support with your hand and table number for approval.
Convert Poker Points to Cash - The Poker Points that you earn in real money cash games and tournaments can be converted into cash. You'll receive $1 for every 200 Poker Points exchanged.
Ignition Poker offers $2 million in guaranteed poker tournaments every week. The vast majority of these tourneys are Texas Hold'em, with buy-ins ranging from $11 to $109.
Every night you can expect a $25,000 guaranteed event, while the $100,000 gtd. highlights the weekly action. You can buy into the $100k directly for $162, or you can play your way towards a seat for as little as $1.
Cash games are offered for Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. Stakes begin as low as $0.01/$0.02, and you can find full tables up to $25/$50 stakes.
All banking at Ignition is done via Bitcoin. It would be nice to see other banking options offered, but Bitcoin at least allows US residents to play here without hassle.
You can contact Ignition Poker support through email or telephone. Unfortunately, there is no live chat option.
Bovada Poker became the largest US poker site due to its big tournaments and frequent promotions. We see no reason why Ignition can't carry the banner because they too offer solid promos along with the same tournament action.
Our main complaints, though, include that you can only deposit here using Bitcoin and how the welcome bonus is largely tied to casino games. The latter is our biggest problem because most poker players won't be thrilled with trying to earn up to $1k in casino bonuses.
But if you can get past this, Ignition Poker looks to offer the same quality service and tournament action that Bovada did.
