Revenues from casinos in Maryland continue to do well, with a rise of 10% on July of last year, with Maryland Live! yet again leading the way. The four casinos in the state all posted positive numbers with the Hollywood Casino in Perryville edging just a little over what it made for the same month last year, The Casino at Ocean Downs up 4.6%, the Rocky Gap Casino Resort earning $4.2 million and Maryland Live! showing a huge 11% increase with a total of $58.2 million in revenue. This August sees the opening of Maryland’s fifth casino and will mean that future numbers are bound to change when the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore opens up its doors, but things are definitely looking good on the casino gaming front in the state. The Horseshoe will become second in size to Maryland Live! and will boast a huge 2,500 slot machines and 100 casino table games as well as a large selection of drinking and dining choices, and the $454 Million development is seen as the main competition to Maryland Live!
